La Chaux-de-Fonds, a town built on a grid like squared paper, off the main transport routes yet rich in alternative cultures and with a diverse population, is the ideal place to explore the idea of the margins. Margins mean taking a step aside, decentering the self, scribbling outside the text. They are a refuge for fleeting ideas, gathering crumbs flaking from dreams. They are true bastions of freedom.

SaMba is at the origin of the Museum of Fine Arts of La Chaux-de-Fonds. It has accompanied its development, its metamorphoses, and continues to collaborate actively with it. It contributes to the enrichment of its collections, to its animation and to its influence. The Biennials make known the artists of the region, offer a springboard to the young talents. Lively and dynamic, it brings together around projects and events all those who share an interest in artistic life.
